Ulster Automobile Club
The Ulster Automobile Club, 'born' in 1925 has a rich and colourful history of providing competitors and spectators with high quality motorsport events. Our famous 'Circuit', a round of the ERC, BRC and TROA Championships in 2016, was viewed by millions of people worldwide via live streaming, promoting picturesque Northern Ireland at its best, whilst providing local and world class competitors with some of the greatest stages in Ireland incorporating some 'old classics' along the North Coast.
Craigantlet Hill Climb is only one of two rounds of the British Hill Climb Championship not held on the mainland. Last year's fastest man, Scott Moran set a new hill record of 39.12s, can 2017 provide a sub 39 second run?, don't miss the date, this is one of the must do hills in the Province.
September 2016 saw a very successful revival of Knockagh Hill Climb after a 50 year absence from the ANICC Calendar. Forty-nine local competitors battled it out over the 'four corners' to set hill records for each class and Christopher Houston from Bangor won the ANICC Championship setting the fastest time of the day for this 'new' hill. Why not come and join us in 2017 and test your driving skills on this unique challenge?
Our Northern Ireland Championship Autotest always provides a friendly, enjoyable day of action for competitors and spectators just after Easter.
The last quarter of our motorsport calendar year is packed with four diverse events; the Equinox Targa Rally (formerly the Retro) and the Northern Ireland Championship Sprint at Kirkistown in October, two class acts. November sees the return of the Firecracker - one of the few navigation events to run in recent years, a great opportunity to get into rallying for a very modest outlay. It wouldn't be Christmas without It's Not The Boxing Day Rally in December; 2016 saw 140 crews tackle over 30 tests which tested both driver and navigator to the limit and always provides a seriously enjoyable day of fun and truly mighty craic; try it if you dare!!
The Club are always keen to recruit new members and competitors into the sport and we manage to fit in several well supported social events throughout the year. We raise funds for charity, through our quiz nights, treasure hunts and 'Sunday Driver' days for members. We also provide training and guidance for new marshals and encourage all our members to become accredited marshals to help with events throughout the year, providing pleasurable experiences which are beneficial to others and contribute to the continual development and progression of motorsport in Northern Ireland.
