Cookstown Motor Club has had a long and distinguished history having been formed back in the forties as a part of the Cookstown and District Motor Cycle and Car Club. In 1970 a new club was formed to promote navigation rallying and autotesting, to be known as Cookstown and District Motor Enthusiasts` Club Ltd.

Cookstown Motor Club went through a revival in its jubilee year of 1995 when enthusiasm was rekindled and club ranks quickly grew to undertake a variety of events, culminating in organising and running the Club's first competitive event, an Autotest, for some years. Cookstown Motor Club now organises two rounds of the Northern Ireland Autotest Championship. Indeed the Club has some of the top autotesters in the country amongst its ranks including a nine times Northern Ireland Champion (with four successive victories), ex-British Champion and Ken Wharton champion, Sam Bowden.

Following rationalisation recently the club is now known simply as Cookstown Motor Club Limited. The past fourteen years have seen the Club gain confidence and experience enabling the members to increase the number of competitive events, which they have organised. These include autotests, Rally Time trials, navigation rallies and stage rallies. Cookstown Motor Club's policy is to give Competitors excellent value for money. The members are also willing to offer help and assistance to many other clubs throughout the year.

Club Committee meetings are held at Killymoon Golf Club, Cookstown on the third Wednesday of each month at 8.00 p.m. All members and interested non members are welcome.
